71. Lucy Salome CHESHIRE was born on 3 Feb 1889 in North Marston, Bucks.³ She was baptized on 10 Mar 1889 in North Marston, Bucks.¹¹ She was living in 1891 in North Marston.¹⁸ She died on 19 Feb 1972.³ Lucy Salome was born on 3rd February 1889. She married Cecil Ellingham of Bletchley and had a son, Norman, and a daughter. Norman went into the Post Office at Reading and then into the Army during the Second World War. He rose to the rank of Major and had much to do with military' postal services in Africa. After the war, he organised postal services in some of the African colonies and was awarded an M.B.E. He was the last Controller of Posts and Telegraphs in Swaziland, retiring when British rule ended. A very nice man (according to Alan Cheshire), he now lives in Reading with his wife Esme. Lucy spent the winter of 1960/61 in Norfolk with her daughter as she was not able to to be in her noce home in Bletchley on her own. She had spinal trouble and was pretty helpless. She missed all her friends and found the children a bit trying. She had been such a worker all her life and her hands were now almost useless, sitting propped up in a chair, unable even to blow her nose, and as her head slipped sideways, so it remained until someone straightened it for her. She spent the last part of her life in a home in Winslow. She was such a kind and very hard working person all her life until she became ill.. She died on 19th February 1972
